UPDATE: Cold weather shelters opening in the Tennessee Valley on Tuesday | Local News


UPDATE: Various organizations and businesses are opening shelters on Tuesday due to the winter weather in the Tennessee Valley.

HAMILTON COUNTY:

  • The CHATT Foundation will open the Cold Weather Warming Shelter at 727 E. 11th Street on Tuesday through Friday from 5:00pm to 6:00am each day. You can learn more about the CHATT Foundation online or by calling 423-756-4222.
  • Crunch Fitness at 5230 Highway 153 in Hixson will open on Tuesday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. People without power are invited to stop by to charge their phone and take a hot shower.

SEQUATCHIE COUNTY:

  • The Sequatchie County Rescue Squad will have it shelter at 16385 Rankin Avenue in Dunlap open until the severe weather has passed.

BLEDSOE COUNTY:

  • Lee Station Baptist in Pikeville will open its fellowship hall on Monday and Tuesday. The church is located at 10109 Old State Highway 28.

DADE COUNTY:

  • Dade County Justice Building at 75 Case Avenue, Trenton, GA. 30752
  • Dade County Administrative Building at 71 Case Avenue, Trenton, GA. 30752
  • South Dade Storm Shelter (Valley) at 265 School Street, Rising Fawn, GA. 30738
  • Sports Complex Storm Shelter at 9622 US-Hwy 11, Trenton, GA. 30752
  • Davis Storm Shelter (Sand Mountain) at 249 Davis School Road, Trenton, GA. 30752

WHITFIELD COUNTY:

  • Providence Ministries has opened an emergency shelter at 711 S. Hamilton Street in Dalton. The shelter will be open for the rest of the week. Please call 706-275-0268 with any questions.

WALKER COUNTY:

  • The Walker County Civic Center at 10052 Highway 27 in Rock Spring will open as a warming shelter on Tuesday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
