A UN committee has decided against making changes to a draft text of a global tax treaty that could outline how it will be negotiated.
Committee Chair Ramy Mohamed Youssef said Monday that making changes to the proposed outline, known as the skeleton, would be time consuming for the committee.
The panel is meeting all week to discuss how a UN tax policy framework will address topics such as taxing multinational companies and wealthy individuals, digital taxation, taxation of cross-border transactions, combating tax-related illicit financial flows, and using tax to address environmental challenges.
