Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe U-19 World Cup, Live Score Updates

We are at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley, where Group C action in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup will get underway as Sri Lanka Under-19 lock horns with Zimbabwe Under-19. Australia and Namibia are the other two teams in the group, with the two teams at the end of the group stage qualifying for the Super Six stage. Neither Sri Lanka nor Zimbabwe have managed to lift the silverware in their Men’s Under-19 World Cup history and will take the field in the quest for their first-ever title. Sri Lanka Under-19 are coming off a shock exit in the 2023 Under-19 Asia Cup, where they failed to make it out of their group featuring Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Japan. Sineth Jayawardene and his boys will have to put that performance behind them as they look to start afresh here in South Africa. In the lead-up to the event, Sri Lanka registered a comprehensive victory against Bangladesh in the first warm-up game before India gave them a taste of their own medicine in the next match. In the batting department, a lot will rest on the young shoulders of skipper Jayawardene, and he will be hoping for support from Dinura Kalupahana and Pulindu Perera. They will heavily rely on Malsha Tharupathi for his leg spin and his handy contributions with the bat lower down the order. Other than Tharupathi, Vishen Halambage and Rusanda Gamage will be looked upon as the all-rounder options from Sri Lanka. Garuka Sanketh will lead the charge of their pace attack, which also consists of Vishen Halambage as the second frontline seamer. On the other hand, Zimbabwe Under-19 are riding high on confidence after wins over the USA and Ireland in their official warm-up fixtures. Even though the wins have come against inexperienced teams, the young Chevrons will be looking to take that momentum into the main event. Skipper Matthew Schonken will hold the key in the spin department, where he will be complemented by Ryan Kamwemba. They have a good bunch of seamers, with Anesu Kamuriwo, Newman Nyamhuri, and Mashford Shungu in their ranks. Opener and wicketkeeper batter Ryan Kamwemba packs a punch in their batting unit, as do Panashe Taruvinga and Campbell Macmillan. As Kimberley welcomes the 2024 Under-19 World Cup, who are you backing to come out on top in this game?
