Dendera singer Sulumani ‘Sulu’ Chimbetu and popular dancer and musician Francis Dhaka, affectionately known as “Franco Slomo”, thrilled fans when they shared the stage at Slomo’s fifth album launch at Tanza Centre in Chitungwiza on Friday.

On the six-track album titled ‘Hauna Zera Neni,’ slomo penned ‘Molly’, ‘Mudiwa Rose’, ‘Fambai Nesu’, ‘Mweya Wakaipa’, ‘Chiringe Nzira’ and ‘Baba naMai’.

The launch was graced by Sulumani Chimbetu, who urged artists to support each other.

“As artists we should continue to support each other and be united for us to grow our brands. Let us support these upcoming artists and encourage them to be strong because it is not easy to build these brands,” he said.

Before Sulumani and Slomo hit the stage, fans had warmed up to mbira music by Vee Mhofu, Zimdancehall musician Tawanda Mumanyi, popularly known as Seh Calaz and gospel musician, Mathias Mhere.

Slomo’s dancers mesmerised the crowd with their scintillating dances.

Slomo was a dancer and backing vocalist for Alick Macheso’s Orchestra Mberikwazvo and Sulumani Chimbetu’s Orchestra Dendera Kings before going solo.
