Saudi Arabia unveils world’s most incredible clifftop stadium

Saudi Arabia continues its multi-million dollar investment in sports and for the 2034 World Cup, for which it will be the confirmed host by FIFA later this year, it has presented what will be one of its crown jewels, a stadium for 45,000 people that boasts of being the “most modern in the world”.

An incredible sports venue that will be built on a 200-meter cliff and will feature the world’s largest LED screen, measuring one and a half kilometers.

The name of the stadium is not the most original, as it will bear the name of the crown prince of the kingdom, Mohammed bin Salman, but it will have all the technological advances imaginable.

The design presented has a retractable roof and pitch, just like the Santiago Bernabeu, but the most spectacular feature is the LED screen that will form the entire facade and which they say could reach a kilometer and a half around its perimeter.

The stadium will also be made up of more than 20 LED cubes that will make the immersive experience with the fans “the most spectacular in the world”.

Where will the stadium be located?

The stadium will be erected in Qiddiya, about 40 kilometers from Riyadh, and is intended to become the home of Al Nasser and Al Hilal.

“The futuristic venue aims to reinvent the concept of the traditional stadium,” the investors, who did not disclose the cost of the work, possibly the largest ever for a sports venue, said in a statement yesterday.

“The LED wall is designed to open up to views of the city below,” said the investors yesterday, who made it clear that the project “is more than a soccer stadium. It will also have an artificial lake at the foot of the stadium that aims to reduce the environmental impact that can cause both the work and the implementation of the same.
