THE Kremlin says it is ready to give an appropriate response if any side interferes in Russia’s Special Military Operation in Ukraine.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has maintained Russia’s stance regarding other countries joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation -NATO, saying Russia will be ready to give the most resolute response to any side that interferes in the special military operation underway in Ukraine.
Commenting on the issue of a potential Russia-NATO direct clash, the Kremlin spokesman noted that all the concerned parties will try to avoid such a scenario.
Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel earlier this Thursday saying pumping weapons into Ukraine increases the probability of NATO’s potential conflict with Russia which might grow into a catastrophic nuclear war.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has reiterated that the Kremlin is seeking to protect Donetsk and Lugansk residents from Kiev’s neo-Nazi regime.
Speaking at a news conference in Oman, Lavrov said the special military operation is meant to stop Western attempts to undermine international law, ignore and grossly violate UN Charters, including the principle of sovereignty.
