Parliamentary Committee tours Provincial Heroes Acres to assess and improve shrine conditions – The Chronicle

THE Portfolio Committee on Defence, Home Affairs, Security Services and War Veterans Affairs embarked on a tour of Chinhoyi Provincial Heroes Acre and Warren Park Provincial Heroes Acre.

In a statement on X, the Parliament of Zimbabwe said the primary goal was to assess the state of the shrines and monuments that commemorate the liberation of Zimbabwe. 

“The committee focused on evaluating the security measures, sanitation conditions, and the need for resurfacing the shrines. This visit aimed to identify areas requiring improvement and ensure the preservation and honor of our heroes’ legacy.

“The Portfolio Committee on Defence, Home Affairs, Security Services and War Veterans Affairs had a tour of Chinhoyi Provincial Heroes Acre and Waren Park Provincial Heroes Acre; the main objective was to access the situation and identify areas that need improvement at the shrines and monuments of the liberation of our nation in terms of security, sanitation and resurfacing of the shrines,” reads the statement.
