Manica Diamonds utility player Trevor Mavhunga believes they have what it takes to go all the way in the prestigious Chibuku Cup.
The Gem Boys are having a good season under coach Jairos Tapera and Mavhunga, who joined Manica Diamonds from Dynamos, is looking forward to win the silverware with Manica.
“I understand what is at stake with the cup. It’s one of the biggest prestigious cups to ever grace the country,” he said.
“I believe as a club we are ready to fight all the way for our own good. It is our wish to clinch the cup by all means.
“As a senior player, I think we might have an effect on influencing the final result as experience also come into play on how we express ourselves on the field of play.
“All teams will be looking out to win this one for many different reasons so as a team we need to be at our utmost best to have results coming our way.
“A cup game is all different from the league match so we are going to be cautious and not leave room for mistakes as mistakes will get you punished and you will be left with no room to redeem yourselves.
“Going into these games we won’t be looking as to who will be playing. In cup games, all teams are equally the same and can harm you.
“So we are going to be focusing on our game and play to our strength. I believe we have enough arsenal to cause harm to any team will be facing and I believe we are hungry enough to fight with all we have to make sure we progress all the way through.
“But one game at a time and we are fully focused on our match on the weekend,” he said.
