SHEASHAM Football Club’s Elton Sibanda has become the first goalkeeper to be the Zimpapers Sports Hub Star of the Week.

Sibanda was in outstanding form when the Gweru side beat Chicken Inn FC 1-0 on Saturday. The tie was played in Bulawayo.

The Nguboyenja bred goalminder also known as Tony kept his eighth clean sheet after the victory, despite having started the season as the team’s third choice.

“I am happy that I have managed to make it to the Team of the Week, and to make it as the Star of the Week also. I had a difficult start to the season but I am happy that I am contributing to the team’s progress,” Sibanda said who has previously played for Indlovu Iyanyathela and Bulawayo City FC.

The Construction Boys have not lost a single match since coach Lizwe Sweswe took charge. In the four matches they have played under Sweswe they have draw two and won as many.

“He has had a huge impact on how I have performed so far this season and the team as a whole. I will continue working hard to make sure that I impress him and that the good results continue to come.”

The Gweru based side sits on 14th place and will hope to continue with their fine form under their new coach when league matches resume next weekend.
