Belarus, Zimbabwe to cooperate in combating international crimes

MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) – The Memorandum on Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage of Zimbabwe, signed in Harare on 24 January 2024 was officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal on 3 February.

In accordance with the national legislation of their states, the parties shall cooperate in combating crimes committed or might be committed on the territory of the states of the parties or involving citizens of the states of the parties; training of personnel; exchange of information on security and public order issues; security technologies and equipment.

Belarus and Zimbabwe have agreed to cooperate in combating crime, including crimes against life and health, honor and dignity of the person, illegal production and trafficking of drugs and international organized crime.

The parties also undertake to protect information under this Memorandum of Understanding. They shall not exchange such information with third parties without prior written consent.

This Memorandum shall enter into force on the date of its signature and shall remain in force for a period of five years, after which it may be extended by mutual agreement of the Parties.
