“I’m honoured that you found the opportunity to welcome us. I convey best greetings and wishes for health and well-being from your friend, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko. Before the trip, the Head of State set the task: to settle all issues that arise at the highest level, providing all possible assistance and support,” noted Ivan Kubrakov.

The Interior Minister stressed, “We’ll do everything to ensure that the police of your country carry out their tasks efficiently. We’re ready to share our skills, experience, and equipment.”

In his response, Emmerson Mnangagwa emphasised that during a recent meeting at an international forum, Aleksandr Lukashenko once again assured that Belarus would provide widespread support to Zimbabwe. This meeting is the best confirmation of this.

“I’m happy that we have developed such a strong friendship and excellent relationship. I’m sure that, together with the Head of the Zimbabwean Ministry of Home Affairs, you will determine the main directions for training our specialists for their speedy implementation. I’m primarily interested in the training of special forces personnel,” said the President of Zimbabwe.

Continuing the implementation of the agreements reached, Ivan Kubrakov and Zimbabwe’s Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Kazembe Kazembe signed a memorandum of co-operation aimed at increasing the anti-criminal potential of the two countries.

During his visit to this African country, Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov also met with his foreign counterpart Kazembe Kazembe.

“Events taking place in the world confirm that special attention must be paid to combating all types and forms of crime, as well as co-operation in law enforcement issues between the countries. Modern challenges and threats should be confronted only together and through an open dialogue and exchange of experience,” Ivan Vladimirovich stressed.

The parties focused on the issues of training Zimbabwean police officers on the basis of special forces and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.

Ivan Kubrakov noted that interaction in this direction can be very promising and carried out on a long-term basis. The Belarusian side will do everything possible to conduct training at a high level that complies with all modern requirements.

The guests also got acquainted with the training process at the police college and studied the material and technical base of one of the units, whose fighters held a demonstration performance.
