MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention joined local leaders Tuesday to present a check to local organizations.
The check, totaling over $1.7 million and presented at Government Plaza, will provide funding to 15 local organizations, including AltaPointe Health Systems, the Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Gulf Coast.
Department Director Sallye Longshore said the prevention group looks forward to participating their annual district presentations, saying “these community-based programs to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect in Alabama.”
